Not much is known about the now long disbanded Alternative Rock group, Sins Of A Divine Mother, other than some theories, deep dived research, and remnants of news from over a decade ago. All that's confirmed 100% is one of the songs from the album was set to be used in the video game, Shadow The Hedgehog (2005): "Broken." It has been rumored that "All of Me" was also created to be considered for the game, given it's title and lyrical similarities to the game's story, though not confirmed by Danny or Wylie. According to some YouTuber commentators:
Jun Senoue was the one who suggested them to SEGA to create a song for the game. Sins Of A Divine Mother was a separate side project for Mona Lisa Overdrive (A2). They decided to move states and they got busy with other projects, future projects are unknown at the moment. The album was randomly uploaded to the site in 2017 by the drummer's son. The late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park was allegedly involved with both them and other 'Shadow' band Julien-K. All three bands (Sins, A2, and Julien-K) are side projects of the band "Orgy," which is a band Linkin Park helped produce a record. In fact, Sins were the instrumentals for their album, "Punk Static Paranoia" in 2004. Wylie Beacher (singer of Sins Of A Divine Mother) was the backing vocalist and screaming voice for Punk Static Paranoia. So if you listen to the album and you hear a scream note, that's him. And if you listen closely on pretty much all of them you can hear his voice behind Jay Gordon's.
The track Broken was supposed to be the Neutral-Hero theme in the 'Shadow' game, but never made it in. Jun Senoue wanted to use it, and all the band members were in agreement except the singer, Wylie. They couldn't track him down to get his permission to use it. Sins and A2 naturally contain some of the same band members. Danny was the producer and sound mixer of both while Kyle B. was the bassist for both. So when they couldn't let Jun use Broken, Danny and Kyle suggested making an original song based on the game's storyline, with a similar vibe to Broken. That ended up being Chosen One, and the rest is history.
The demo album, You Lie To Me, Untied We Strand, and all those other re-recorded versions of Broken have gradually been found and released under other band titles. Sins of a Divine Mother has since released a remastered official release under Spotify and other platforms in 2023 and 2025.
